VisionTek Radeon R9 280X Video Card Review
Conclusion
The VisionTek Radeon R9 280X is an excellent card in terms of performance. I threw it up against an SLI setup and in most cases it was able to out perform it and at a cheaper price too. The EVGA SLI set up would cost $318 USD while the VisionTek Radeon R9 280X is priced at $309.99 USD. Couple the price/performance with a lifetime warranty and lifetime technical support and you have a big win. The R9 280 is aggressively priced and hits that sweet spot for enthusiast cards. Granted, the VisionTek Radeon R9 280X is not the top tier of video cards, but it is darn close. Give the folks over at AMD a little bit of time to clean the drivers up and performance numbers should go up.
Cooling the VisionTek Radeon R9 280X are twin fans that sit atop the card. During testing temperatures never got over 72° C nor could I hear the fans ramp up. Even at load the I had to stick my head down by the case to hear the fans.
I played a little with Eyefinity. Having only two monitors for testing makes for an interesting view. I tossed up Heaven at 3840×1080 and was pleasantly pleased after pulling 45.8 FPS.
I would not hesitate to recommend the VisionTek Radeon R9 280X to anyone looking to build or upgrade their PC. The VisionTek Radeon R9 280X is an excellent performer and priced just right.
