Conclusion

Overall I think the Tritton AXPC USB 5.1 Digital Headset is a great choice to go with for a USB headset. They offer great highs and mids, while bringing in decent lows. The lows could have been a little better, but with the rumble feature added in it’s more than acceptable. They are built very well and should have no problems with durability. Comfort wise they fit nicely, might need to be just a little tighter fitting, guess it depends on your head size. On the microphone side of the equation, I had a few people state that while I was using the microphone on the AXPC with Skype, that they was hearing more bass than normal. On my end I did several tests and recordings to see if I could reproduce the bass but wasn’t able to do so. Everything sounded good as far as I could tell. Now if your an avid gamer and want 100% accurate surround sound and don’t mind giving up a little on the portability side, you might want to give Tritton’s AX360 headset a try (just make sure you can connect them). I also know Tritton is working on doing a set of the AXPC’s with the digital connection as well.
