A Closer Look at the Level 20 GT
The Level 20 GT measures 18″ x 7.3″ x 1.73″ and has a sturdy aluminum faceplate in a matte finish. On the underside, there are 5 rubber feet and there are two sets of riser feet that will elevate the rear of the keyboard at different levels.
The rear of the Level 20 GT has a pass-through USB port as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack for your gaming headset. When elevated, you can route your USB and headset cables to the front via a cutout between the keyboard and the number pad. While we’re speaking on audio, the keyboard also has media controls with a scroll wheel for volume.
The Level 20 GT has pre-mapped function control keys out of the box that allow you to change a host of options without the need for additional software. The F1-F12 keys control easy access to email, applications, the lighting effects, the colors of the RGB as well as cycling through the various modes. If you want to further customize the entire keyboard you can with the iTake engine software (we will get into that next).
The review sample we have includes the Razer Green switches under the keys. They have a nice tactile feel and are clicky. I find them a tiny bit less loud than the cherry switches, but don’t expect to not wake someone up if you’re in earshot playing Apex at 12 am. Coming from a standard low profile key, I find that when I am typing or needing to reach a key I can be very deliberate and I know where my hands are at all times which you can’t sometimes easily get with a standard keyboard. Each switch has an RGB LED inside to allow for full-color customization (16.8 million colors to be exact).
