A Closer Look (Keyboard)

TT Left Side Straight TT Right Side Above

The MEKA G-Unit is one of the best looking keyboards I have ever seen. As you can see the sides have subtle red highlights that give some life to the keyboard. The keys have a nice height which allows easy access to each and every one while resting your palms on the palm rest. The palm rest is fully detachable and the keyboard looks just as sexy without it. It is very comfortable and is at an ideal angle for long gaming session or speed typing. The MEKA G-Unit mechanical keyboard sports Cherry MX Black switches that allow for a very smooth typing session. The audible click confirms that you have in fact activated the key. With these keyboards the switch is activated before you hear the click which allows for faster typing abilities and the least amount of lag possible. I can type faster on this keyboard than I can on any other keyboard. I personally favor MX black and MX red.

TT Rear PortsTT Rear Above Angled

These days keyboard manufacturers are incorporating a great variety of ports on their keyboards. When you follow the devilish rigidness of the keyboard towards the middle you will find two USB ports, an audio out, and a microphone input. This is perfect for plugging in your mouse which will take up one USB ports along with a gaming headset which will use one USB port, an audio input, and a microphone input. This will free up some USB ports on your motherboard and make your overall cable management neater.

TT Above No palm Rest TT Above Palm Rest

Here I show you the difference in look with and without the palm rest. Usually I’m bias with palm rests. I usually think keyboards look better with it attached, but for some reason I think that this looks just as good with and without it. On the top right of the keyboard you will see that there are 7 media keys to provide gamers the instant control of audio while gaming. To the top left you will see the instant profile switch keys along with the normal mode/game mode key. To the left of the keyboard you will see the macro keys. There are up to 20 macro keys (12 fixed & 8 unfixed) per profile and total up to 60 macro keys within 3 profiles. Those definitely help out while gaming. Especially if you are a gamer who goes back and forth between a couple different games. With an industry leading 64KB built on board to the keyboard, profile saving can be done with ease when traveling to the next big gaming event.

TT Lighting 2 TT Lighting 1

One of my favorite features of this keyboard is the extraordinary customization of the lighting. Here you can see the lighting at the highest setting during the daytime. It is quite bright! There are changes that you can make to the lighting through the included software and I will show you that on the next page of the review.

gunit-cable TT Flipped Over

Here is the keyboard flipped over. As you can see, there are adjustable stands to angle the keyboard a little higher if you wish. This is to take less strain off of your hands when typing or gaming for a good amount of time. At the bottom of the keyboard you can see the inserts for the attachable palm rest. When attached, the palm rest is very secure and stable because of the way that they designed it. Also, there is a slit under the keyboard so you can route the power USB cable so it is neater. Very nice touch!
