Thermaltake eSPORTS Cronos Gaming Headset
A Closer Look
Thermaltake’s art department has been at it again and the flash and flair on the package of the Thermaltake Cronos Gaming Headset doesn’t disappoint. The retail package includes the Thermaltake Cronos Gaming Headset, cables for PC and mobile devices, documentation and a protective carrying bag.
The Cronos Headset is one of the lightest headsets that I have picked up in a while. The headset features a fold flat design. This makes it easier to travel with.
The Thermaltake Cronos Gaming Headset features cables that can be removed. There are two different cables included with the headset, the all red cable is used for mobile devices and the other is the headsets connection to the PC. Take notice of the PC cable, there is a USB connector, this connector controls the lighting on the headset. Standard microphone and headset jacks are present as well. There is also an inline control module to control volume and to mute the microphone.
The ear cups of the Thermaltake Cronos Gaming Headset feature a soft plush material that is designed to help reduce fatigue from wearing the headset during long gaming sessions. Internally there is a 40mm drive featuring a neodymium magnet.
The microphone on the Thermaltake Cronos Gaming Headset is a unidirectional microphone and does not feature any noise cancellation features. The microphone can be rotated up and out of the way when not needed.
The audio cable is removable on the Thermaltake Cronos Gaming Headset. A micro-USB connector is used to get sound from whatever device your using to the headset. A friction style locking mechanism is used to keep the cable plugged in.
One of the weak points of many headset is the hinge that connects the ear cups to the head band. Not so with the Thermaltake Cronos Gaming Headset. The hinge is made of thick strong plastic that does not offer much flex. This headset was meant to last for a long time.
The padding under the headband is made of soft foam covered by a material made of Lycra. This is another comfort feature that is designed to increase comfort and allow the user to wear the device for longer periods of time.
The USB connector on the cable allows the Thermaltake eSports Cronos Gaming Headset to light up during PC use. The Thermaltake dragon is the prominent image on each side with an illuminated ring around the edge of the ear cups.
Music was added to drama hundreds of years before motion pictures.
