Scratch builds

3rd place – “Plasma Controller”: The case was a former controller from a plasma cutter. Challenges were clean out and mounting of the hardware such that she (yes, female modders can rock this too!) was able to keep the fold out tray working and accessible. This was her first scratch build case mod build, and (I predict…) not her last!

2nd place – “Silhouette”: a scratch build int the truest sense, the entire case was fabricated by hand and crams a lot of power into a small space. The case was designed so that when off, it looks like a svelte, black box. Once powered up, only then does the internal lighting shine through the side dark acrylic panels and let you see the goodies inside. Angled tray in the main compartment was oriented so as to emphasize the dual SSD drives. It’s small, it’s quiet, its was a joy to look at.
