Conclusion |
The amount of features that the Synology DS209+ is pretty amazing and as I said before the web interface software is very easy to used and is broken down into the sections. There is no need to jump around trying to figure where it is all at. The compact size is a plus for any home user or small business as you know space is sometimes at a premium and with the small size comes a small power usage. At only 35 watts when used at full tilt and it cycles down to a mere 18 watts in standby. This so much better than using an older PC to try and do what it does and you do not have to find all the software you might need to do the task. Then add on the added cost of each piece of software and probably having to upgrade some of the hardware…well you do the math.
So if you are thinking about playing around with a home networking solution the Synology DS209+ Disk Station is more than capable of handling your needs. Now if you are a small business owner that needs an in house solution to handle your files and to allow outside access to them through FTP or a website than this is a must have for you. The back-up solution that comes with the DS209+ is simple enough to use on very computer on your network and can save you from disaster when you have an unexpected system crash. |
