A Step-by-Step Guide to Shooting Paint: Stepping Away From Black

Step 7: Drying
After the first coat, let the paint dry completely (about 24 hours). During this time make sure nothing comes into contact with your freshly painted surfaces.
Step 8: Sanding Phase 2
In this sanding step you are going to want to use a medium scotch pad. This is a very light sanding and must be done by hand. Once again, you just want to rough up the surface just a little. Don’t put your weight into it. Let the pad do the work. Make sure you get all the little nooks and crannies.
Step 9: Wash Phase 2
Just like the last wash step, make sure you wash off all the dust, paint particles, and scotch pad fibers off your freshly sanded surface with a light soapy warm water solution and a medium bristle brush.
