Sapphire PURE Black X58 Intel Motherboard
A Closer Look Continued… |
Going left to right we have a PS/2 Keyboard/Mouse port, a Coaxial S/PDIF-Out, below that a Optical S/PDIF-Out. Next we see a blue nub sticking out and that is a Bluetooth interface (yes, bluetooth), a firewire port- there is is again-, ESATA port, network port, 2x USB 3.0 ports, eight USB 2.0 ports and finally the audio ports for the Up-To 8 channel on board sound. I am not sure if they left anything off the I/O section of this motherboard.
Six SATA ports are located the edge of the board that faces towards the front of the case. The four black ones are SATA2 while the two red ones are SATA3. So you can get going with what you have no and have room to grow on when you make the jump to the 6GB/s SATA3. Oh, and you do get a single IDE connector. Cooling the X58 chip and other vital pieces are large black heatsinks that use heat pipe to help remove the heat. They are a bit tall but I do not think that they will interfere or cause any problems when installing a not stock cooler. Maybe un-noticed by some was that an extra step was taken to continue the black theme and that was to make the CPU holder black and what looks like black chrome. *Bonus points*
Placed over the top of the ICH10R chipset is also a black anodized heatsink, but on top of that is a large aluminum badge showing all the world what you motherboard you have. I understand that you need to brand you products but I am not sure if this was really beneficial to the cooling of the chipset. With just some glue on the back it is easy to take off.
And finally the booty shot… |
