Conclusion

Rosewill R-Studio Ampbox

The Rosewill R-Studio Ampbox is a very deceptive piece of hardware. At my place of work, I’ve walked around and heard a few different sets of bluetooth speakers in other cubes. Some are cheap while others cost considerably more all but the most expensive lacked in the area of sound. Most of the music reproduced sounded lacking in either the higher end or the bass frequencies. Here’s where the Rosewill R-Studio Ampbox differs. The Rosewill R-Studio Ampbox is able to deliver rich sounds. During my testing, I used the cable box in my (home) office and connected to the Rosewill R-Studio Ampbox via the 3.5mm port. Watching movies and listening to music shocked me. While watching some action movies, especially during a shooting or war time scene, I was expecting massive amounts of distortion. However, this was not the case. The Rosewill R-Studio Ampbox was able to play without any discernible distortion, granted I did not have the Rosewill R-Studio Ampbox at the max volume level, but it was still fairly loud and could easily be heard in the 500 sq ft office that I work out of. Speaking of volume, the real test of a bluetooth speaker is how it sounds outside. I used the Rosewill R-Studio Ampbox to play music during a small gathering of people, and a few asked me where the music was coming from. When I pointed to the Rosewill R-Studio Ampbox they were surprised as well.  The Rosewill R-Studio Ampbox is charged by the mini-USB port on the side. Rosewill claims the R-Studio Ampbox should have an average battery life of about 12 hours, depending on what you are playing through it. During my testing, with no bluetooth devices in the room and connected via the 3.5mm jack I averaged about 13 hours of time before the warning alarm went off. When connected to the bluetooth device I averaged slightly less at 11 hours.

I am not one to boast about bluetooth accessories but I am extremely impressed with the Rosewill R-Studio Ampbox Bluetooth Speaker. This little speaker is able to deliver high sound quality at a price that doesn’t break the bank. Currently the Rosewill R-Studio Ampbox Bluetooth Speaker retails for 59.99.
