Reeven Brontes CPU Cooler Review: Reaching New Heights in Low-Profile Design
You cannot really judge how capable a CPU cooler is just by looking at it. If it well-made enough, even size can be deceptive which is good news for those who do not want the bulk of a tower style cooling solution and prefer to save some vertical space, although the question still remains. Which one to get?
Recently established Reeven has a new low-profile offering that serves to satisfy those looking for capable cooling at a compact size. The Reeven Brontes is a compact, C-type cooler that stands a scant 59mm tall with mounting support for LGA115x, LGA1366, LGA775 and all current AMD motherboards including AM1 Kabini systems.

There are not much in the way of padding inside understandably considering the cost but the heatsink unit is held in place by cardboard holders at the bottom to minimize movement during transport. Dimensions and measurements are given on the box as well so potential buyers get an estimate of compatibility.
Inside, the mounting accessories are housed in a smaller box while the main compartment houses the Reeven Brontes heatsink itself with the fan pre-installed with wire-clips. Accessories include a fold out documentation for installation, thermal compound in a packet, 4x silicon washers, 4x mounting post screws, three different pairs of mounting brackets and 4x heatsink bracket mounting screws so they can be installed on the heatsink base. The three pairs of mounting brackets are for: Intel, AMD and AMD AM1 motherboards.

You should have done a comparison with Gelid’s Slimhero, also at 59mm high
and with a very similar design, as it would be the only direct competitor for this cooler.
Thank you for the suggestion. I will look into it, maybe do a low-profile roundup when I catch up with my work load and see what’s the best bang-for-buck. I know ID-Cooling has a 5-heatpipe direct contact in the under 60mm height range as well that looks very capable.
