QuakeCon 2014 Computer Case Mod Contest
Modders-Inc will be back as the host of the 2014 QuakeCon Computer Case Mod Contest. Each year has become more successful for the modding community and for QuakeCon. Being so successful Modders-Inc was again asked to bring back our high level of professionalism to the largest and best case mod contest in the USA. Between our modding contest prize pool and what we gave away at the 2013 QuakeCon Case Modding Contest, we had just about ~$12,700 in prizes to give away. As we gather prizes and information for QuakeCon 2014 we will update the page.
Here is the quick version on how you can be part of the case mod contest. The official rules are farther down the page.
How can I enter the contest at QuakeCon:
There will be three separate divisions you can compete in and they are…
Case Mod Classic: class consists of any mod that is built from an existing retail or factory PC Case.
Scratch-Build Mod: consists of any mod built from anything other than a PC Case.
id/Bethesda Themed Mod: consists of any mod themed on id Software/Bethesda or any their games.
Participants may enter their case mod in only one of three Contest Categories
Only one entry per person or team.
Entrant(s) must be the owner(s) of the case mod.
Any past top three (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) and CPU magazine “Mad Reader Mod”-winning case mod is not eligible to compete in any class. Past winning Modders themselves are eligible to build a new computer and to compete in any class.
Contest is open to all QuakeCon BYOC Attendees ages 18 & up. You MUST have a seat in the BYOC area to compete in the contest.
All official Modders-Inc.com staff members and their families are NOT eligible to enter the contest.
Just come by our booth, grab an entry form, fill it and you are entered!

Judging
Judging will be determined by Modders-Inc, CPU Magazine and any pre-selected guest judges. Participants in any of the class competitions are not eligible to be a judge. The scoring will be broken down into Five categories each based on a scale of 1 – 10; with 10 being the best. Categories include Concept/Design (1-10), Creativity/MODS (1-10), Workmanship (1-10), Attention to Details (1-10), Special Features (1-10).
Final scores are determined by adding the score from each category together. The highest score will receive the grand prize and the second and third highest scores will receive runner-up prizes. In case of a tie the tying mods will be deliberated by the judges and a winner will be picked.
NOTE: Judging will end by 4pm on Saturday as we need to have 3 hours prior to the announcement of the winners to tally the scores and to contact the winners. Contest finalist will need to bring their case mods to the QuakeCon Final Show area Saturday to display their mods on stage for all to see!
If you are a modder and will be attending QuakeCon but not competing in the contest and you would like to be a guest judge. Please contact us at our Contact Page.
