A Closer Look

SSD’s are known to offer lower power usage, silent running, produce less heat, and extremely fast random access times when compared to the older IDE and SATA drive we commonly use today. Still in its early stages and not yet thought of as a mainstream product the SSD has so much potential that we have not seen as of yet, but what we do know it that this is the way of the future of data storage. It is also goes hand in hand that the leaders in this new era are the manufactures of memory modules. Patriot has been one of those companies they seem to pop into your mind when you think of PC memory and they are hoping to continue that trend with their new venture into the world of solid state drives.

Inside the box you will receive everything you need to install the drive which also includes a bracket to mount the drive to so that you can install it into a standard hard drive bay. You see the Torqx SSD is a 2.5″ drive (this is one of the advantages of the SSD’s) and is very light in weight.

A protective film is placed on the bottom of the drive to make sure that there is no damage done to the screw holes and the connect blocks. The “Warranty Void If Broken” tag is there for a reason so don’t let your curiosity get the best of you or you WILL screw up your 10 year warranty on the drive, oh by the way if you already have a drive from Patriot they have retro-activated this warranty to ALL their drives…nice!
