Ozone Strike Pro Keyboard Review: Clarity of Purpose
Ozone Strike Pro Software
Installing the Strike Pro Software is not necessary for using the Ozone Strike Pro keyboard but it does open up more options for the user such as macro recording, profile management and individual key remap controls. The layout of the software is such that the bottom area containing the profile selection, adjustment and macro manager launcher remain fixed across all three tabbed settings. At any time, the user can reset the values to factory default or switch from one of the five profile banks. Users can also create extra profiles outside of the profile banks and save it to a local drive (including USB drives) as a GPK file so it can be recalled at a later time. The first tab on the screen is the Main Control tab which allows users to re-assign values on most of the keys with the exception of keys that have a secondary function, as well as the Windows and Ozone function key.
The second tab is the Macro Setting page which allows users to re-assign values to one of the six Macro profile banks. This can be an individual key or users can create their own macro key sets by launching the macro manager.
The Macro Manager app opens another window which can be dragged around and repositioned instead of as a child window within the Strike Pro software. This only has the ability to record keyboard inputs and does not accept mouse inputs. Users can also loop the recorded macros or record delays between each keypress and release but this option has to be toggled on. Minimum accepted delay speed is 1ms while the maximum accepted value is 6350ms.
The last page is the Advanced Settings page where the rest of the options reside including polling rate adjustment, Windows key disabling (without resorting to Game-mode), Key response time setting (1ms to 16ms) and light adjustments. These light settings are similar to the cycle toggled via the Ozone key and includes options for Off, pulsating mode (breathing), Gaming mode (only the red LED keys are lit), 30%, 70% and 100% brightness
