Installation

Installing RAM into your system is typically not that complicated and you should always consult your motherboards manual. All memory modules are made so that they will only install one way. A notch near the center, but slightly off set of the module, must line up with the slot located on the motherboard. This keeps you from installing the memory in the wrong position.

On the testing rig an Ultra ChillTec is used to keep the CPU cool for overclock testing. Swapping memory in/out is normally not a problem, but with the added height of the heat pipe being attached I ran into an issue. The Ultra ChillTec is a bit wider than a typical heatsink and fan setup and Ultra knew that so it was made tall enough the clear the standard memory modules. In order to test the OCZ DDR2 PC2-8500 Reaper HPC Edition Memory I had to install the two modules into the second and fourth slots. Even after doing this the heat pipe heatsink just barely, I mean barely, cleared the cooler.
