NZXT Sentry 3 Touch Screen Fan Controller Review
As most fan controllers go, the Sentry 3 is pretty basic. However, it does what it needs to do. We’ll start on the left and work right. The top number shows your selected fan’s revolutions per minute (RPM), and directly under that is the temperature sensor reading. As you can see our channel one fan was turning at 710 RPM. The up and down arrows in the lower left corner allow you increase or decrease the fan speed.
The center circular area shows what channel is currently selected. The bars to the left of the large number “4” in the image above, allow either maximum performance settings, silent operation, or custom fan settings. On the right side you’ll see there is a large slider bar, which allows you to rapid set a fan speed percentage. Directly under that are your 5 channels which can be linked in any combination, or selected individually. By default the Sentry 3 has a distinct beeping when changing settings, however the speaker on the right side allows you to mute it’s sound. Pressing the power button simply puts the device into “Stealth Mode”, turns off the backlighting.
Thanks for the great review, it has helped me make my decision between this and the Bitfenix Recon. I’ll be buying the NZXT today!
Will it fit in Corsair carbide spec 01 case perfectly? Thanks !
What is the voltage supplied by this fan controller at minimum speed i.e. 40%?
