Logitech G9 Laser Mouse
Observation |
Gaming
Of course this is the most important part of the review so lets see what I did not like about the gaming aspect of the mouse. Ok all done with that…lol Really there was nothing that I did not like about the Logitech G9 Laser Mouses ability to play games. The switchable DPI was awesome and quick when going from a full run/shoot and firing at everything (my normal gaming style :-) ) to super low DPI for hiding in close quarters to snipper mode picking the crap out of everyone. The weight system is more of personal like or dislike so it kind of hard to comment on it, but if you are used to a lighter mouse then no weights are for you. If you are switching from a cordless mouse that has a heavier feel then you can add or remove the weights to get that feel again. You can also create a custom feel by adding the weights in different areas of the holder. You want the right side of the mouse heavy, add the heaviest weights there. Want more of a heavier feel at the base of your hand, again move the weights there; I think you get the idea. The “Wide Load” body is definitely my favorite of the two body styles and it does have the right feel for gaming with the “rubberized” texture. The MicroGear mouse wheel is perfect in my opinion with the positive feedback when scrolling through weapons. The ease of usage and speed of the wheel will make it hard for any other company to beat. Dislike The default “sensitivity” controls are not located in the best position, but fortunately this feature can be re-assigned to other buttons. I think if Logitech would have made the button with two raised parts that made it look similar to a rocker switch (as represented in my picture), it would have made the button 100 times easier to use. Currently you have lift your left finger (normally your firing finger), bend it back, and then adjust the sensitivity by pressing left or right. Making the button as I suggested would of only required you to slightly rock you finger to the left or right to make the adjustments. Heck they could have done this to the right hand button and totally taking away any distractions from your important left finger.
My concept for a rocker stylel button. |
