 Testing Procedure:

The testing procedure that we used for the LEPA G850-MAS 80 PLUS Gold Certified Power Supply was actually a simple voltage test done using the Thermaltake Dr. Power II PSU tester. While it may not be the in depth testing methods used by some of the bigger PSU testing sites, for our purposes of checking the voltages over each and every connector, it works just fine.

Above you can see that all that is required to do is simply plug in the connectors from the PSU, power on your PSU and the press the test button on the side of the tester. BTW, the tester has two modes, an automated mode and a manual mode. I prefer to use the manual mode to test each item individually at my own pace.

How do you know if a PSU fails a test? Using the DR. Power II it is very simple, a blue window with no beep means your good to go. However, if you have a red window with beeps, then you have a failure. Of course we have a good CPU voltage on the left and a bad CPU voltage failure on the right. Please Note: The two pictures above are simply to give you an idea of what to expect, as far as a good test and a failure and are not from the actual PSU we were testing.

Now that we have that explained, let’s move on to the actual testing of the LEPA G850-MAS 80 PLUS Gold Certified Power Supply.
