IN WIN GRone Full Tower Computer Case
Final Thoughts and Score:
Picking out a computer case is almost like picking out a car, and let’s be honest here, the very first thing that catches our attention are the looks, next we focus on whether or not the car or in the case the Computer Case fits our needs. Well, I have no trouble at all telling you that the IN WIN GRone will more than likely fit the bill in both categories for me. It has the looks that catch my eye and the features it has more than satisfy my needs in a computer case.
The IN WIN GRone has tremendous potential in the PC enthusiast market. You have great looks right out of the box, and being a modder one could even expound upon that to the point of making it their own custom creation. Next we have the spaciousness of the chassis inside, there is more than enough room to install some pretty hefty hardware including 240mm and 360mm water cooling radiators. The expandability of this case is simply awesome, it comes with five 140mm pre-installed fans, but with the ability for us air enthusiasts to add up to five more 120mm to 140mm fans. That my friends is a lot of fans. The tool-less HDD carriages are very simple to work with and the fact that the HDD cages themselves can be removed and configured to your personal needs is a big plus. There are places in this case that with a tad of effort can really pay off for a PC enthusiast with imagination.
Did the case have any downsides? Yes, unfortunately all cases have one or two and some even major downsides, however, the IN WIN GRone only had very minor issues. One thing I have issue with, and this is with all cases, are plastic feet with no rubber pads to help keep the computer from sliding around. A waxed desk and no rubber feet could spell disaster if a bull in a China shop tromps through or a child accidently bumps into the case. Plus plastic will scratch up a nice desk in no time. Second, there were no filters behind the optical drive bay covers, those would have been nice to have just in case you did not utilize all three optical bays. Third, also pertains to the filters. If filters are just going to be wedged into slots on the bottom of the case then they need to be made out of thicker material, because just a slight touch can knock them right off. However, a quick remedy is to take a small amount of tape and tape them down at the edges, this way they can still be removed without a mess. Slide out filters would have been best but I can live with them the way they are. My only other nit pick was that there seemed to be a lack of tie off points for the wire ties on the backside of the case for cable management. Nothing I could not get around, but some may whine about this. Also, (just a word of caution) I would be careful of how I pic the case up, as you can accidently palm the lower air intake panel and it pop off, which could break the clip that latches it. Other than those three or four very very minor issues, I had no issues with the GRone at all.
Would I recommend the IN WIN GRone to builders and enthusiast? You better believe I would, it’s well built, nicely designed and user friendly… The IN WIN GRone is an awesome full tower case that I will be recommending to my friends who build gaming and enthusiast systems.
