GeIL Unveils EVO X DDR4 RGB LED Kit
GeIL has added a new RGB LED illuminated DDR4 memory module to their lineup called EVO X DDR4, supporting speeds of up to 4000MHz and higher. GeIL’s EVO X DDR4 memory is compatible with the leading motherboard brands’ RGB user interface be it ASUS’ Aura, GIGABYTE’s Ambient LED and MSI’s Mystic Light with their 4-pin headers which attaches to the GeIL memory module in order to synchronize the RGB control. These new GeIL EVO X modules are also equipped with a sliding hot switch for those without an RGB LED header on the motherboard, offering manual real-time control for up to seven RGB color rotation: breathing red, breathing green, breathing blue, blue, yellow, purple and white.
These EVO X DDR4 modules are equipped with what GeIL calls the Hybrid Independent Light module (HLIM), which is a separate module from the memory PCB module with its own power source and microprocessor so performance is not affected. This is why GeIL can offer these memory kits from 3000MHz scaling beyond 4000MHz unlike other LED oriented kits which have bus powered LEDs. This memory module kit can be powered either by the 12V RGB header power source or via a 9V/12V fan header power source.
GeIL has also teamed up with NewEgg.com for distribution and sale in North America. The Dual-channel 16GB (2x8GB) 3000MHz kit is currently available on NewEgg for $129.99 with free shipping, while the 32GB versin of the dual-channel kit with a pair of 16GB modules run for $244.99.
