Just in case this might be your first time thing about upgrading your memory and you are not sure on how to install them then I will show you a few things to look at that will help you along your way.
The first thing you need to do is read the manual, yeah that book that you tossed aside, that came with your mother board or computer. This will give you some details about what type of memory you can used and what memory slots you should use. The manufacture will normally say that if you are going to be using certain memory module sizes that you should place them in a certain order orslot. The memory modules and the slots for the memory in the mother board are made to go together one way. A notch is placed into the module and a spacer in the slot must line up. Each memorytypes, such as DDR, DDR2 and DDR3 have the notch in different locations so that you can not put the wrong memory into the slot.
At each end of the slot you will see some”clips” these are there to keep the memory locked into place. When you are ready to install the memory just push on the outer edges tilt them back. This will allow the memory to be placed into the slot and be ready for the final step.
Insert the memory into the slots and then with your thumb ( like to place both thumbs on each end) and push the module into the slot. Once the memory goes down far enough the clips will “snap” into place and lock the memory into their new home. Make sure that both ends snap in and your ready to power up your system.
