A Closer Look |
At first you might think that the ECO stands for economy, but what it really stands for is that the memory is ECO Friendly. Most of the current DDR3 memory sold today run at a voltage setting of 1.65. The G.Skill Memory modules are designed to use less voltage, 1.35 which is 18% VDIMM. The lower voltage helps decease a systems operating temperature plus resulting in improved stability of the system.
What we see here is a close up the heat spreader plates that are used. These aluminum spreaders cover the entire length of the modules and they have holes at the top where they join together. This allows for any excess heat or possible cooling air to flow across them.
This is just a small list of the boards that the memory has been test on. Our testing system motherboard, the ASUS P6T Deluxe, was not on the list but the memory modules worked like a charm and we had no issues at all during usage and testing. |
