If you are looking for a cheap way to get yourself from 2.4GHz connection to 5GHz this device might be a suitable fit for you. This device supports modern encryption levels so from compatibility perspective you should have no issues. My observations with this device were only for about month. What I have noticed is the operational temperatures of this device are relatively high. While streaming video I have noticed that the device quickly became hot to touch. I have streamed for about 30 minutes and had no issues with the quality of the stream. Looking back at my benchmarks of this device I can say it does perform within advertised specifications. I do find the lack of specifications on CUK site without manufacture misleading, however, if you are looking for more support please check with Wavlink website.
Currently, AC1300 from CUK retails for about $ 20 USD. Similar Dual Band USB Adapters from known manufacturers like TP-Link and Netgear retail for about $ 40 USD so I do feel that the price is very competitive.
