Cooler Master V10 Hybrid T.E.C. CPU Cooler
Conclusion |
Competing in the CPU cooler market has to be a major challenge for the air cooler manufactures. Having had just about every option thrown at us consumers, the engineers definitely have their work cut out for them. The Cooler Master V10 is definitely unique in design, although I feel it needs a bit more tweaking to achieve the level that I feel Cooler Master represents. For the most part, Cooler Master has always given me the feel of “high end” equipment, and the V10 just doesn’t fall in that category for me. The Cooler Master comes in at around 140 US, thats a pretty steep price to pay for a cooler that is limited in so many ways. We tested the V10 at 6 different levels and showed satisfactory results until we hit the 3.87 GHz mark. This alone tells me that we are definitely going to be limited on the CPU side. Then add to that the size limitation thats going to restrict the V10 to above average mid tower and full tower cases. Had I seen better results on the performance side, I would have been able to easily overlook the size constraint it poses. The bottom line is what it is. The Cooler Master V10 is a decent cooler but not what I would consider a good bang for the buck. Most users willing to spend the kind of money this costs, are generally those that are going to push their processor for every extra MHz they can get. The V10 will definitely be a limiting factor depending on the CPU being used. |
