Cooler Master N400 Computer Case
A closer Look Continued…
With the side panel removed we can start to get a little more in depth with the features that makes this stand out amongst other cases in its price range. I will attempt to keep my focus off of features common to cases at this price point such as the non removable hard drive cage. The Cooler Master N400 come equipped with a nice size CPU cut out as well as a raised motherboard tray. From here we can also see the the tool free options along the front of the case.
Around the back we have a standard I/O cut out and and a nice 120mm black fan installed. Later on in the build we will be using this location for out 120mm liquid cooling radiator. Here we also have punch-outs for running liquid cooling hoses through the rear of the case. As always use caution when running wires or hoses though cut outs such as these and keep an eye out for sharp edges.
Cooler Master has given us two 5.25 drive bays as well as an amazing eight 3.5 drive bays and three 2.5 drive bays.
This bracket is is used to mount two 2.5 drive bays out of the way. Later in the review we will used this bracket to mount our boot drive and a secondary drive out of sight and out of mind.
The n400 Comes equipped with three dust filters, one under the PSU (Power Supply Unit), one inside the top of the case and one on the side of the case. At this point we see a major shift from a lower end case to a case attempting to to be so much more on a very tight budget. The PSU filter is flimsy and mounted inside the case under the PSU making it clumsy and annoying to remove post build.
The top mounted filter is made much better and unless you have a large radiator attached here should be must more user friendly than the PSU filter.
The last filter included with the N400 is attached to the side of the case in a space most of us tend to reserve for wiring and cable management but Cooler Master has given us the option to add up to two 120mm fans here as well. This filter is identical to the one on the top of the case and could be very useful to those who take advantage of it.
Last but not least is the second pre installed 120mm fan, after removing the front bezel we have easy access to clean this fan or the option to add a second 120mm fan here giving us incredible if we so chose.
