Conclusion |
Overall working with the Cooler Master Hyper N520 was very pleasing. Generally when it comes to a “budget” minded product, one starts thinking that corners are cut here and there to save $ on the production of the product. For a whopping $34.99 USD price, the Cooler Master Hyper N520 doesn’t disappoint. The Hyper N520 gave us an average 20C lower load temp across the board when compared to the stock Intel cooler. The installation process is simple (does require the board to be removed unless you have an access hole on your motherboard tray) and relatively quick to do. There didn’t appear to be any clearance issues on the EVGA X58 motherboard, and in the Cosmos-S chassis. Noise levels where well in the acceptable range.
If you have a few higher CFM fans laying around. You might even be able to get a little more performance out of the N520 by swapping out the stock fans. Just keep in mind that these fans are going to be pulling their power from the CPU fan header, so you don’t want to exceed the rating of the mobo header. |
