Cooler Master HAF XM Computer Case
Conclusion
Cooler Master’s HAF series of cases have become the staple of gamers and computer enthusiasts alike. With the introduction of the HAF X, my personal favorite case of the series, they bumped up the bar for others to reach for. However, they have not stopped there, as they continue to strive to improve on the excellence of the HAF series. The Cooler Master HAF XM is just one more example of how good the HAF series has become.
Let’s talk about the case itself. Personally I think it is a great case, however, with that being said there were a couple things that I did not quite like. Number one on that list was the fact that they did not keep the same 90° rotated side panel and latch system on both sides of the case. It would have made closing up the case after cable management a breeze. I can’t tell you how many times I have pulled connectors apart trying to slide a side panel into place after bundling cables in the rear of the case. The second thing I personally did not care for was the mesh side panel, I personally prefer windowed side panels or solid side panels. I guess I am just not that into mesh side panels. However, it does leave room for modders to cut their own windows.
The only other issue I had with the case, was that to me it seemed to have lost a tad of the rugged military looks that the HAF series is so familiar with. I really liked the heavy tread like scalloped edges that the HAF X had. The HAF XM seemed to be a bit softer looking.
However, with all of that said I must say that the case as a whole rocks with features. There are more fan and radiator combinations possible than one can count. Add to that the X-Dock hot swappable drive slots, all the HDD/SSD drive slots, the cable management abilities, the psu cover, tool-less drive bays and all over easy access to everything. And you have an awesome gaming / enthusiasts enclosure. And did I mention all the room inside the case? For a mid tower case I think one would be hard pressed to match it in the amount of room it has inside.
I suggest that if your looking for an affordable case with lots of inside room and plenty of features, that you check out the Cooler Master HAF XM!
