Cooler Master HAF XB LAN Box Review
Interior Features
The inside Cooler Master HAF XB features a removable motherboard tray with a large hole to help with the installation of CPU coolers that require a backing plate. This helps in the installation process as the motherboard doesn’t have to be removed from the tray to install the cooler. The tray and the motherboard can be removed as an assembly, which is held in by four thumb-screws. Cooling is provided by two 120mm fans at the front of the case. However, the fans can be swapped out for a 120mm radiator for water cooling.
The X-dock connector is mounted to the vertical rails for the X-dock drive bays. Two SATA connectors and one Molex connector are provided for installation. The X-dock is not the only means to install hard drives in the Cooler Master HAF XB, there is a mount for four 2.5″ drives. The 2.5″ drive mount can be moved to help with cable management routing or completely removed if so desired. The optical drives are held in by a tool-less locking mechanism. Slide the locks to open and insert the optical drive. Once it is seated, slide the lever back to lock to secure the drive in the bay.
