Remember what I said about installing a mini-itx board and system in the top section, well I guess Cooler Master must have thought the same thing as there are holes to place some extra motherboards stand offs (included).

The mini-itx motherboard installed. This motherboard had the video on board, but a video card could be added and yes there are two I/O ports to allow you to install a duel slot card.

Another power supply was added to the top section just to supply any power needed for the items install here.

Full shot of both sections housing two different systems. At present, you must turn on each PC individually. However, future modular I/O panels offered through the Cooler Master store will provide functionality for turning 3 systems on and off.

You know with this kind of set up it would be no problem if you wanted to go to a LAN and did not want to take you whole machine. Just remove the top section and off you go while leaving the rest of the machine at home. I know you are probably thinking “Can I Stack non-HAF Stacker Series chassis with the HAF 915 or 935?”  Cooler says: “No, we do not recommend this. Chassis sizes, stability, structural integrity, and material quality all differ between different chassis series and brands.”

  1. Let’s say we have a home server or HTPC in the 915R and same gaming configurafion in main unit.
I want to turn on only the upper part. Where is the turn on switch?!

  2. Great question! From what I understand Cooler Master will adding kits to their store that you can get separate switches for the 915 sections or have were both systems can be turned on and off with one button.

  3. This looks very cool!

I would love a stack of 4 915 (from top to bottom):
    -Wife’s PC
    -My PC
    -Home Server
    -Drive Case for the Server

    It will be nice…

I believe I spotted an error:
“If you would like to purchase the lower section that has the power supply located in the front the HAF-915F-KKN1 has a MSRP of $69.99.”

Shouldn’t that be the upper section?

  4. The 935 reviewed is the case and top section and is sold as one unit. The lower section is sold separately and it does have the power supply located in the front. If you buy the lower section you can now add it to the 935 for a three level PC or you can take the two smaller sections, put them together and make a smaller case. Or like you said you can buy a couple of the modular sections and stack them. I saw them online now for about $60 each.
