Cooler Master CM Storm Quickfire Stealth Mechanical Keyboard
A Closer Look Continued
The first thing that strikes me about the CM Storm Quickfire Stealth is this isn’t your typical keyboard. Most notably the lack of the ten-key. For me personally the loss of the ten-key took a little bit to get used to. I use the ten-key all the time. The next thing that pops up is the placement of the labels. Cooler Master choose to put the labels for the keys on the front of the key caps; this is why they put the Stealth label in the name. In doing this, Cooler Master made sure the labels won’t wear off of the CM Storm Quickfire Stealth. Finally there is an FN key, similar to laptops. This key unlocks some of the hidden features of the CM Storm Quickfire Stealth.
Here is a close up of one of the most important features of the keyboard: the Keys. The keys on the CM Storm Quickfire stealth are very sleek and smooth. The labeling on the caps is clear and bright. This keyboard is not backlit however, this does not take too much away.
The WASD and both windows key caps can be replaced with the ones pictured above. The red WASD caps feature arrows that point in the appropriate direction as well as letters on the face of the caps. The windows keys can be replaced with the Cooler Master logoed keys. Using the included key cap puller replacement and installation is a snap.
To remove the key caps, press the key cap removal tool over the key until it snaps in place. Give a gentle tug upwards and it pops right off. The removal tool holds the caps after removal to prevent them from flying all over the room. To install, take the keycap and place it over the switch and give it a press down. You’ll hear it snap into place.
