Biostar Launches New mini-ITX SoC Mainboard Line
Biostar has announced the launch of their latest series of mini-ITX System-on-chip mainboards. The small form factor with embedded low-power CPUs make them ideal for passive and home-theatre PC use. Biostar has utilized both Intel Bay Trail and AMD Kabini SoC products for this new mini-ITX series.
For Smart office use, Biostar offers either an Intel J1800 or AMD E-2100 based passive unit supporting USB 3.0. For HTPC or Digital entertainment use, a more powerful Intel J1900 or AMD E4-5000 quad-core processor is available, providing enough horsepower for full HD 1080p playback, HD audio processing, light gaming and integrated Biostar Bio-Remote 2 wireless remote functionality.
Biostar also includes many of the technologies their full-sized mainboards offer such as Charger booster, new glass fabric PCB manufacturing process and Smart Speed LAN management software. The new mini-ITX SoC line even uses Power-Pak Low-RDs(on) MOSFETs for increased CPU power delivery, efficiency and thermal management.
