Final Thoughts and Conclusion
Every now and again, there is a product that before you ever see or touch it, you know it’s going to be good. For me, this was one of those products. However, sometimes you can overhype something so much, that is will never live up to your own expectations. This was not one of those times. The AORUS RTX Waterforce Xtreme 2080 WB lived up to and even exceeded my expectations. Let’s start with the beautiful aesthetics of this card. The AORUS Falcon Head logo has become iconic and word AORUS, synonymous with excellence. The RGB back-lit AORUS logo’s on the front and back of the card look awesome when illuminated. I loved the “Team Up. Fight On.” printed diagonally across the center of the card. The tribal-like design on the opposite side of the front looks amazing, especially with the RGB lighting on. The back plate is simple and sleek and again. The AORUS RTX Waterforce Xtreme 2080 is a perfect example of how to do RGB lighting right. Whoever designed the overall aesthetics of this card did a great job! Almost as good as the engineers who designed the card itself.
The performance on the AORUS RTX Waterforce Xtreme 2080 was stellar. In fact, it was hands down the best RTX 2080 that’s ever been on my test bench. Whether it was synthetic benchmarks or games, the AORUS Waterforce 2080 came out on top in just about every benchmark we threw at it. The AORUS Waterforce 2080 was also the first RTX 2080 I’ve personally tested to overclock to 2100 Mhz. Even at clock speeds as high as 2100 MHz, the AORUS Waterforce 2080 never even hit 60°c during testing.
I know water cooling may put some people off of this card. However, the benefits of water cooling your GPU can’t be overstated. The lower constant temperature can help extend the life of your card. You’ve seen some of the massive coolers the 20 series cards are sporting, they’re massive. These coolers are just as loud as they are big too. So the fact this card doesn’t make any noise beyond the sound of coolant through the system is almost priceless. Especially if you’re into streaming or creating videos.
At the time of this review, you can pick up the AORUS RTX Waterforce Xtreme 2080 WB on Amazon for $899.99 USD. To some that may sound pricey. However, keep in mind your GPU comes with a water block already installed. If you want a water-cooled GPU, but don’t want to do a full, custom loop, you still have options. Just grab yourself a Swiftech H240 X3 AIO cooler and pop off the CPU block and screw the G 1/4 fittings on to the AORUS Waterforce 2080 and you’re good to go. You’ll have a water-cooled RTX 2080 with a 4-year warranty backed by one of the best companies in the industry. The AORUS RTX Waterforce Xtreme 2080 WB is an amazing graphics card that is enthusiasts grade hardware.
