Colorful Introduces iGame Z170 YMIR-G Gaming Motherboard
Motherboard and video card manufacturer Colorful has announced the latest from their iGame motherboard line using a Z10 chipset: The iGame Z170 YMIR-G Gaming motherboard. The ATX sized solution tries to live up to its “gaming” moniker by having a PS/2 port, three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots and Killer E2200 +Intel i211 dual-LAN network solution. It also features a 14-phase VRM and onboard controls for those who would rather overclock instead.
Upon first glance, I thought the VRM heatsink had water-cooling support but might actually just be part of the look. They look more like hex screws rather than barbs, designed so that maintenance is easier without having to unscrew the heatsinks from the back. Nonetheless, the VRM cooling looks quite beefy and there are covers for most of the motherboard’s parts as well a la ASUS’ TUF series boards. It also lights up with the onboard LEDs having the ability to switch between red, green or blue color options.
The iGame Z170 YMIR-G is also equipped with USB 3.1 Type-C and M.2 slot so it is compatible with the latest in high-speed storage whether internal or external. The audio is using a Realtek ALC1150 with special audio capacitors used as well.
Unfortunately for users in US/Canada however, Colorful is only available currently in APAC and EU regions but then again distribution deals can always be worked out and one might just find it available in this side of the pond.
