Street Fighter V PC Requirements Revealed: Steeper than Expected
Another much anticipated game of the year is the fifth installment to CAPCOM’s legendary fighting game franchise: Street Fighter V. CAPCOM has been releasing the character roster information in trickles over the past few weeks, showing fan favorites from the SF Alpha series such as Rainbow Mika and Birdie as well as major updates to classic characters like Ken and Cammy. Many PC gamers are wondering what they will need to run the upcoming game which overhauls and upgrades the graphics from Street Fighter IV so CAPCOM has posted the following from their official developer blog:
Minimum | Recommended | |
Operating System | Windows 7 | Windows 7 64-bit |
CPU | Intel Core i3-4160 @ 3.6GHz (or equivalent) | Intel Core i5-4690K @ 3.5GHz |
System Memory | 6GB DDR3 | 8GB DDR3 |
GPU | GTX 480, GTX 570/670 | GTX 960 or higher |
DirectX | DirectX11 | DirectX11 |
Sound Card | DirectX Compatible soundcard or onboard chipset | DirectX Compatible soundcard or onboard chipset |
Obviously, these requirements sound a bit steep considering Street Fighter IV was not particularly heavy. CAPCOM also adds that Steamworks will be supported upon the title’s release. While the actual release date for 2016 still has not yet been revealed, CAPCOM is keeping interest by making trailers of character reveals on their YouTube channel and maybe it will inspire some creative casemods or two before the actual game launch.
