Microsoft Extends Free Office365 Offer Outside of US
Microsoft has been in a philanthropic kick lately, offering their Office365 productivity suite for free to both teachers and students in the United States initially but has now expanded the generous offer to the rest of the world. Signing up requires a valid school e-mail but once registered, users get:
- The latest version of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Access and Publisher installed on up to five PCs or Macs and up to five mobile devices like iPad, Android and Windows tablets.
- 1TB of storage on OneDrive you can use to store and share all your documents across all your devices.
- Office Online for in-browser editing, collaboration and co-authoring
Multiple languages are available but Hebrew and Arabic languages is still forthcoming and self-sign up service is not yet available in China. To check for eligibility and to sign up, students need to go to office.com/getoffice365 and for teachers, they need to sign-up at office.com/teachers
