MSI Z97 Gaming 9 AC: Jack of All Trades
The most distinctive difference between high-end and mainstream motherboards is often the level of luxury they provide. Surprisingly however, the budget and mainstream motherboards from MSI’s Z97 Gaming line share a lot of similar features with its higher-end sibling. So when it came to the top of the line from MSI’s Gaming motherboard series, expectation was quite high that there would be something very unique about it to warrant the more than $100 gap between the MSI Z97 Gaming 7 and the MSI Z97 Gaming 9 AC.
Aside from the obvious Wireless AC feature shared with its high-end OC series cousins, the MSI Z97 Gaming 9 AC also features the most ambitious non-discrete front panel audio solution ever integrated into a motherboard. Combined with a 12-phase VRM, 3-way Crossfire support, Killer Ethernet and a 6-month free premium X-split license, the MSI Z97 Gaming 9 AC is ready for any level of gaming.
