ASUS to Lower Motherboard Prices
ASUS, the world’s current leading motherboard manufacturer known for their cutting edge Republic of Gamer series is slashing prices on their motherboard line to maintain market lead, according to Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) reports. The prices are to be dropped by 5-10% to reach ASUS’ targeted aim of 22.1 million units sold by the end of 2014, current ASUS motherboards sales are at 10.4 million so far.
The aggressive move is set to directly affect Gigabyte, the world’s second leading motherboard manufacturer, especially in Chinese markets according to experts, who are now forecasting a 20 million end-of-year 2014 tally for Gigabyte.
